Founded in 1949 in Aomori Prefecture(青森県), Hokuyo Glass(北洋硝子) is?an artisan glass company behind this beautiful sake set.?

In the northernmost part of Honshu(本州), Japan, Aomori Prefecture was geographically disadvantaged due to inconvenient transportation. Therefore, they had no choice but to prepare raw materials such as coloured glasses in-house, which requires a high level of crafting skills. The beautiful sakes sets result from continuous efforts to create new technologies, unique designs, shades and a combination of old traditions and innovations.

"Tsugaru Vidro" is now known worldwide and has become famous. Even so, the factory is still in Aomori prefecture with the same appearance as before. And there, the artisans are still manufacturing quality, beautiful crafts and innovating new techniques every day.

As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
