The flower drawn on this mug is a flower called "Sasanqua", which looks a lot like a camellia.?Sasanqua flower, an endemic species of Japan, blooms in the cold of winter.?The language of flowers is "single-mindedness" and "overcoming difficulties".
As the whole piece is handmade in Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
