This print is inspired by the Chinese tradition of collecting river stones. Called Yuhua—meaning Rain Flower—these beautiful stones were historically found along the banks of the Yangzi river in Nanjing. A legend goes that a monk spent many days teaching in this remote area without food or water. Impressed with his dedication, the heavens showered him with flowers which turned to stones when they touched the ground.
