"A little delicate work will determine the cuteness and quality, so I try to convey my feelings to the shape. And we do not use mass production or machining methods; we just make it by hand. " said the founder of this lovely kiln.
Ihoshiro/五百代 means 500s if it's written in kanji. It was named with the idea of a long-lasting, sustainable company. Ihoshiro kiln installed a solar power generation facility as a solution and used almost 100% solar energy for firing.
The chopstick rest that is gently placed conveys the feeling of the season and the spirit of hospitality. Sometimes it can be a magical item on the dining table.
As the whole piece is handmade in?Gifu, Japan, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
