Kutani?ware?(九谷焼) is a traditional craft of Ishikawa prefecture(石川県) with a history of over 360 years. The beauty of nature, brilliant colour and fine calligraphy are the key features of this style of Japanese?pottery.?
In Japanese culture, rabbits symbolize luck,?advancement, and self-devotion. With the help of their forelegs, they climb hills faster than they descend. Therefore, rabbits are also seen as symbols of progress. This positive symbolism is why rabbits are featured in many traditional crafts, such as kimonos and tableware.?
As every?piece?has its handmade feature, slight irregularities in size, glaze, colour and texture might occur and reflect the nature of the artisan product.
